Capital One charged cardholders enrolled in "Payment Protection" a fee for what it promised would provide debt cancellation when certain events, such as involuntary unemployment, disability, or death were to occur. The lawsuit alleged Capital One did not adequately disclose limitations of the Payment Protection prior to enrollment, and did not provide the benefits to elgible claimants. Our firm was Missouri co-counsel for the nationwide class action.

Result

$250 million nationwide settlment providing benefits to consumers who had enrolled in the Capital One Payment Protection plan.
