We are investigating a number of pharmaceutical companies for off-label marketing of drugs. Off-label marketing encourages the use of drugs for an unapproved indication, age group, or dosage. While it is legal and ethical for a physician to prescribe an approved medication for off-label use, pharmaceutical companies are not allowed to promote or market their drugs contrary to their FDA approval. Whistleblowers with knowledge of a pharmaceutical company promoting or marketing their drug for off-label use may be entitled to both legal protection and a monetary reward under the False Claims Act.
